When you think of mindfulness, what comes to mind? Many of my Christian friends think it’s some kind of mystical practice, but mindfulness is actually about being aware of your thoughts, feelings, and environment, moment by moment, without judgment. Mindfulness means being truly present with yourself and your surroundings, without judging your experiences.
For a long time, my mind was always racing, and it affected my sleep and ability to relax.
Discovering mindfulness was transformative for me. Just by being aware of what was happening around me, I could slow down and really notice my feelings. This practice helped me understand myself better, showing me how mindfulness can improve my daily life by fostering self-awareness.
By staying present, I no longer fixate on past mistakes or future worries. Instead of judging myself harshly, I acknowledged my feelings and experiences as they were. This shift—of accepting rather than judging—boosted my self-esteem and confidence. Mindfulness helps you experience self-acceptance and confidence, changing how you interact with yourself and others.
Your challenge this week is to practice being present and not judging yourself.
Drop me a line/comment if you'd like to learn some mindful practices that can help you stay present and calm.
